The Challenge
Selling handmade ceramics online means competing against the fundamental limitation of the medium — buyers cannot feel the weight, texture, or temperature of a piece. Utsuwa's previous platform treated each object like a product listing, stripping it of the presence that made it worth owning.
The Solution
MIRAÉ built the platform around object portraiture — each piece photographed from multiple angles with extreme surface detail, presented in an interface that slowed the browsing pace deliberately. Product pages were designed as object studies, not transaction pages, with maker notes, material provenance, and kiln details treated as primary content.

Result
Average session time on the new platform increased by over three minutes and the conversion rate on featured pieces improved significantly in the first quarter post-launch. Utsuwa's digital presence is now cited as a benchmark for how craft objects should be sold online.
